Crow Highway, Eastbound

I just finished this piece and am surprised at the amount of response–seems a lot of people have nostalgic memories of the old “Star Weekly” paper. This sign is on Commercial Drive in Vancouver, where the crows fly east every sunset.

To each her own…

A lovely lady came into the gallery, looked at this painting, and said, “Gee, a bird on a wire. I just saw Leonard Cohen sing “Bird on a Wire” last weekend in Portland.” I was taken aback. “That IS Portland!” I replied, pointing out the iconic Volvo sign, a huge landmark in Portland. We were both a little stunned at the synchronicity. Needless to say, the painting went home with her. “Volvo,” 16″ x 16″.
