“Meet Me in Seattle”

I’ve wanted to paint this for some time, one of my favourite Seattle scenes. It was a rainy day in January, so most of the chairs were empty at the Virginia restaurant and bar. But one independent lady sat outside, taking in the air, sheltered by an awning; waiting for a friend? or just enjoying her own space? (Click image twice for full enlargement.)

New at Red Art Gallery

Now available at Red Gallery in Oak Bay Village, Victoria.

“Portland Girls”, 36″ x 24″, $1700. Inspired by a walk down Hawthorne on Portland’s hip east side district. Although I only saw them from the back, their body language seemed so carefree and optimistic, I felt they were in for a happy day of friendship and just being out and about.
